We’re so glad you’re considering LuLu’s as your island retreat. Please review the helpful guidelines. This information is provided to help you understand the cottage; we want you to feel at home and stress-free from the moment you arrive.

Everything you need to know to enjoy your stay and keep things running smoothly is right here:

Check-in: After 4:00 PM

Check-out: By 10:00 AM

These times ensure our team can thoroughly clean and prepare the cottage between guests. Let us know if you need special accommodations—we’ll do our best to help.

COTTAGE ENTRY: A private access code will be provided before your arrival—no key necessary.


  • All beds have freshly laundered linens and protective pillow and mattress covers, as well as 2 sets of bath towels.

  • Beach towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas are not provided, so please pack your own.

  • Do not use indoor linens outdoors.

Provided: hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, and one roll of paper towels.

Not provided: shampoo, conditioner, personal hygiene products, and laundry detergent.


LAUNDRY

The cottage includes a washer and dryer for guest use.
Please:

  • Bring detergent pods (best results)

  • Avoid overloading the machines

  • Always clean the lint trap after each cycle


A/C & TEMPERATURE

LuLu’s cools efficiently—please help us preserve the system:

  • Keep thermostat between 74–76°F

  • Do not lower below 73°F (to avoid freezing lines)

  • Keep windows and doors closed when the A/C is on

  • Use ceiling fans and keep interior doors open for better circulation


POOL GUIDELINES

Shower before entering (outdoor heated shower provided)

  • No pets in the pool

  • No glass inside pool areas

  • Do not tamper with pool equipment (heater is off during warm months)

  • Text 404-791-8969 for any pool-related concerns

Excess sand or broken glass in the pool may incur a $200+ cleaning fee.


GRILLING

BOATS & OUTDOOR FUN

A Weber charcoal grill is stored in the pool cabana—please relocate it to the pool deck before use.

Charcoal grilling upstairs is prohibited.

Please empty the ash after use to prepare for the next guest.


Boats, paddleboards, kayaks, scooters, golf carts, and bikes are welcome.

Store boats in the driveway only (not under the house).

Use the public boat ramp:

  • 28 W. Bayshore Drive (across from the Piggly Wiggly)


SEPTIC SYSTEM REMINDER

Please be kind to our septic system:

  • Use only septic-safe toilet paper.

  • Do not flush wipes, feminine products, or excessive paper.

  • Clogs can cause significant disruptions, are expensive to fix, and damage the island’s ecosystem.


ICEMAKER POLICY

The icemaker is designed for light indoor use only.

Do not use ice from the icemaker to fill coolers, as removing excess ice may damage the system and trigger the clean cycle.

Need a large quantity of ice?

  • Visit Piggly Wiggly or the island’s industrial ice machine.


PET POLICY

🐾

Pets are only permitted with written approval prior to your arrival.

Unauthorized pets may incur an additional daily cleaning fee and/or lead to cancellation.

We love pets—but only when arrangements are made in advance to ensure proper cleaning for the next guests.


WiFi/Password: provided in the Welcome Letter.

Cable TV and movie rentals (fees apply to the card on file).

Audio system and remotes are inside the TV stand—please do not disconnect any cablesthe TV has accessible HDMI connection ports for personal electronic game usage.

Books and games are provided for your enjoyment—treat them with care.


CLEANLINESS & DECONTAMINATION

The cottage is professionally deep-cleaned and decontaminated 4 times per year.

The pool is cleaned and serviced professionally (by Rob the Pool Guy) twice weekly.

Please do not tamper with the pool equipment or the pool leveler.


CUSTOM ARRIVAL SERVICE

Want to arrive with a stocked fridge? We offer personalized grocery service, including milk, eggs, snacks, wine, etc.


TURTLE-FRIENDLY REMINDERS

Minimize exterior lighting after dark.

For safety reasons, the flood lights on the front of the cottage are automatically preset for motion. They will turn on and off when there is motion.

Do not leave beach gear out overnight; it is an island safety requirement.

Avoid digging large holes on the beach—protect nesting sea turtles and humans from danger!


EXTRA GUESTS & VISITOR POLICY

Only registered guests are allowed to stay overnight.

Unapproved guests or pets may result in fines or cancellation of your reservation.
